__"Why are we taking a stand against a project that is deemed by many as a fait accompli?
As Aldo Leopold wrote: “ We will never achieve harmony with the land, anymore than we will achieve justice and liberty for people. In these higher aspirations the important thing is not to achieve--but to strive”.
This issue is about ethics: a moral imperative to intervene against an overt injustice against the natural world.
Our opposition to this atrocity must be part of the public consciousness and record so that future generations can judge our actions.
Our objective is to have the situation recorded for posterity via public forum: that in the year 2012 a small group of people stepped forward and said "NO" to the carnage which defaced Gatineau Park--forever."
