Come and get acquainted with the trees
Have you ever seen an "old growth" tree up close? At 18 feet around, it takes a family of five to encircle such a magnificent being.
A growing group of concerned locals cordially invites you to visit Brown's Lake Mt and experience the ancient trees.
Find the trees at the top of Brown's Lake Road, across Highway 105 from the top of Rockhurst. Park at the end of the road; turn RIGHT (do not go towards Brown Lake Cabin.) The trees are to the RIGHT about 50 metres. Look up and you can see the tops of them.
You can come equipped to make music or art or leave your personal message on a tree. Contribute your voice: There's still time to RETHINK. We CAN have safe roads AND old growth trees.
SWING by for a visit any time - the trees will welcome you! Bring friends and create your own event, or just spend quiet time in this special spot.
After visiting the trees, you could take a trail marked with pink tape at the left top of Brown Lake Road, that leads across the field to where the Highway would start. As you cross the field, you'll see a wetland on your right, which some believe is the start of the Wakefield Spring.
Check out our home page for current designs for the highway and alternatives. Please also consider writing a letter - it really helps!...Go to "Do Something."
Merci. Thanks.
